Ok so, this is how it goes.
My name is Laurénne. Thats like Lauren but more French. I was born on July 12, 1984 in Pomona, California. For the first year of my life, we lived in a loverly house in Chino, Ca with my dog, Nana and my evil kitty, whos name was Pretty Kitty or PK for short. My parents decided that it was time to move on up so we moved into a house in Rancho Cucamonga, Ca. It is the house I am sitting in now, actually. Well, everything was fine, the dog, sad that she was no longer the baby, eventually warmed up to meThe cat, however, NEVER liked me but thats how she was. So all was well, until June 9, 1990 when my sister, Celise (yeah not sure what me Mum was thinking when she came up with that gem) was born. I always wanted a little....brother. Well, needless to say, she was cool for the first five minutes then she opened up her big mouth and let out a pierciing nail-on-chalkboard scream. So if you havent done that math yet, shes 5 years and 11 months younger than me. You wouldnt believe how long it took me to realize that she was not older than me just because her birthday was before mine. Hey, shut up, I was 6.
We lived in this very house until about 1994 when my mother got a job transfer. My parents both work for the CA Dept. of Corrections, in prisons. My mother is now the Chief Deputy Warden at the Ca Institue for Women in Chino, Ca. My father is the Plant Manager at the same prison. Well needless to say, my life has been very interesting from this aspect. Anyways, I digress, she transfered to the State Prison in Calipatria, CA. Now if you have never been there then you are lucky. Its very very VERY southern Ca. About and hour and a half south of San Diego, almost in Mexico. So we lived there for a while, then moved to a neighboring town called Brawley. Slightly better than Calipat, Brawley still sucked. The school system was horrid so my sister and I were enrolled in a private, Christian school called Brawley Christian Academy. It was interesting, to say the least. The whole school, kindergarten thru eighth grade was about 85 students. Woo, fun. With daily Bible study and plaid jumpsuits I was NOT at home there. I went there from 6th to 8th grade and we got the hell outts Dodge and came back to Rancho Cucamonga to live in the house we moved from.
Transferring in the middle of 8th grade, was a nightmare, let me tell ya. I had no friends and all these people had been going to school together since kindergarten. My friends from when I had lived there before didnt even acknowledge me. I hated it. I went to the local high school and finally found my niche as they say. Dont get me wrong, high school was a hell in itself but at least I had good friends to make for some good times. I graduated in June of 2002 (class of '02 woot woot) and was later accepted into California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. That summer was great times, just hangin with my friends and staying out late. It was sometime in the middle of August that I began to get really sick and ended up in the hospital. I was later diagnosed with Crohn's Disease an auto immune disease.
Well lets see a lot has happened since I first wrote this bio.
They found a tumor in my pancreas and I had it removed. I spent a total of three weeks in the hospital and had a ton of nasty shit come as a result of it. I have a 6 inch scar and something like 40 staples. It sucked!
Thankfully, I am finally fully recovered, even though I still have to go see an oncologist about the tumor itself. I dont mind though as long as its not still inside me.
I currently wokr at Target, my favorite store and actually like my job. Wow, surprise, I know. I will be starting school again in Jan and will be majoring in something like Journalism and liberal arts. I want to be a teacher and a writer. FUN!
